I'm going to be heading out to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan tomorrow. The ever-popular Full Moon Party is scheduled to take place on the 19th in Phangan and I intend to take full advantage. What's interesting about the Full Moon Party is that the actual full moon is scheduled to take place on the 17th, but there's two Buddhist holiday days that apparently include the day of the 8th full moon of the year and the day after - Asalha Puja and Vassa respectively. And apparently no one's allowed to sell alcohol on these days, so (rightly so) the Full Moon Party this month has been moved to the 19th (and will not actually be a full moon, but 2 days off is close enough).
Heading to Samui first though for a few days of resort/beach living. Then a day or two in Phangan, followed by some small little village where, apparently, no one speaks English and there are no bars other than at the hotel. So I'll be immersed in local culture for a day or two. Luckily I'll have my translator with me, though she'll be staying with her family and I in my hotel, so I may have to brush up on my charades.
Anyway, this is just a notification that entries may be a little sparse over the next week or so, but I promise to regale the exploits of the Full Moon Party when I return... assuming I can remember any of it.

Garth its good to hear you are finally getting some time away from that rat race at Dos Gringos. Relax and recharge before you head back to....to.....well whatever it was you are doing.
HAHA! Have fun bud chat wit ya when you get back.
Seriously you sounded really stressed out. I'm glad you're finally getting some R&R.
You're in Thailand, how stressful can it be? It's cheap, new to you and ignites some primal adrenaline...... As stressful as you make it I suppose.
As a dedicated doboys.ca reader, I'm okay with sparse posts as long as they're not about Vista and DNS or DHCP or any other Windows mumbojumbo.
Vinh, why must you continually refer to this blog as "doboys"? Also, posts about Vista and other tech stuff are what drives traffic here. Without those posts I'd have a total of about 4 readers. Also I need to vent every once in awhile and/or share my expertise and superior intellect with the world. Or something like that.
