For those of you not in the know, The Sound of Music musical is going to begin playing in Toronto in August. They're currently in the process of auditions for Maria, and CBC has turned it into a reality show à la American Idol, called How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?. The first installment of this show aired tonight, but suffice it to say that I missed it. Still holding out that it'll somehow find its way to the intarweb, but if it doesn't I have a technologically savvy friend that should be able to get it to me.
Now, why am I writing about some reality show you might ask? Well, other than a love for The Sound of Music that began in early childhood when every Xmas my family would sit around and watch this epic musical adventure, I have a friend, Alison Jutzi, who has made it to the reality show portion of the auditions and who I am obviously rooting for. And you should be too. So when it comes time to vote, throw as many as you can her way.
