Rogers & HSDPA - Part Deux

Posted by Garth on Thursday, October 4, 2007

So now that I have a 1GB data plan and have done some real world speed tests, I present a new calculation to determine how fast I can burn through data.

Speed test performed here using the 1mb option. Throughput = 1039kbps. 1GB = 8Gb = 8000Mb.

8000 / 1.039 ~= 7700

So, I burn through my month's plan in 7700 seconds, or about 2 hours (~128 mins) of sustained throughput. Still nowhere near unlimited, but definitely more workable than 55 seconds.

I still hate Rogers.
